Jeedom notifications on the TV
Jeedom's official Telegram plugin sends messages from any scenario. Direct them to a "Home" group, enable the overlay on that group in Tevegram, and your scenarios appear over the TV picture. Nothing else to add to Jeedom.
What you need
- Jeedom with the Telegram plugin installed from the Market (Plugins, Gestion des plugins, Market, "Telegram").
- A Telegram bot token from @BotFather (/newbot), the bot added to a dedicated "Home" group, and that group's chat id (send a message in the group and forward it to @getidsbot, or read the "chat":{"id"} field from https://api.telegram.org/bot<TOKEN>/getUpdates; group ids start with -100).
- An Android TV or Google TV with Tevegram signed in to the account that is a member of the "Home" group.
Setup
Configure the Telegram plugin. In the plugin configuration, paste the bot token and save. Add a recipient with the "Home" group's chat id (the plugin can also list users who have written to the bot). Test the recipient from the plugin: the message must arrive in the group.
Send from a scenario. In a scenario, add an action of type "message" on the Telegram equipment, choose the "Home" recipient, and write the text. Variables and tags work as in any Jeedom message.
Enable the overlay on the "Home" group in Tevegram. On the TV, in the Chats tab, select the "Home" group and turn on its notification bell. Allow "Display over other apps" when Android asks. From now on, every message posted in that group appears over the TV picture.
Test. Trigger the automation, or type a message in the group from your phone. It should appear on the TV within a second or two, then fade out.

Keep the TV messages short
Jeedom lets you send long, formatted messages. On the TV they are read from the couch: one line, the essential fact ("Garage door open for 10 min").
Alerts and reports in different groups
If Jeedom also sends you daily reports, send them to another chat than "Home" so they do not pop over your evening.
Frequently asked questions
Does the TV need to be on Tevegram?
No. Tevegram runs in the background and draws the overlay over whatever is on screen: live TV, another app, the home screen. Open it once after the TV has been turned on if notifications stop appearing.
Will my other chats interrupt the TV too?
Only if you turn their bell on. Keep the overlay enabled on the "Home" group alone and the TV shows nothing else.
Does this work with the Jeedom mobile app notifications?
This is independent from Jeedom's own notification channels: it only relies on the Telegram plugin. You can keep both.
